Approximately 45% of men say they would like a larger penis. If you fall into this category, then penis enlargement surgery can help.
This surgery can increase the length and/or width of your penis so you can feel confident in the bedroom, in the locker room, and in everyday life. In this article, we’ll go over some important information to know about penis enlargement surgery.
Any man who is worried that their penis is too small can benefit from penis enlargement surgery, as it surgically enhances the size of your penis. In fact, it’s one of the only ways for adult men to get a larger penis, as the penis stops growing sometime during puberty.
There are a few things that make you a good candidate for penile enlargement surgery. For instance, you need to be in good general health to reduce the risk of complications from surgery or anesthesia. It’s also important to have realistic expectations about the results from surgery, which our surgeon can discuss with you during your consultation.
You might be wondering what your penis size is and how it stacks up against the average if you’re considering male enhancement surgery. The average flaccid penis length is about 3.5 inches and the average flaccid penis circumference is 3.66 inches.
In the erect state, the average length is 5.1 inches and the average penis circumference is 4.59 inches.
If you want to measure your own penis, make sure you do so safely. For penis length, it’s generally easier to measure either erect or stretched length. To do so, take a ruler and place it firmly against your pubic area and measure from the base to the tip of your penis. For stretched length, stretch the penis as far as you can without any pain or discomfort.
To measure penis girth, you will need either a soft measuring tape or a piece of string made of non-stretchy material. For a soft measuring tape, simply wrap it around the widest part of your penis and record the measurement. If you’re using string, wrap it around the widest area and mark where the string meets. Then you can measure with a ruler.
If you need to know your penis width, rather than circumference, for things like condom sizing, then you’ll take the number you got from the instructions above and divide it by 3.14. This will give you the diameter of your penis.
Whether you want a wider or a longer penis (or both), penis enlargement surgery can help. For lengthening, usually we recommend suspensory ligament release, which is where we transect the ligament holding the penis to the pubic bone. This allows more of the penis to hang down outside of the body and, therefore, look longer.
For penis widening, we typically use fat transfer. This is where we take fat from part of your body, like the abdomen, pubic area, or thigh, purify it, and then transfer it into the penis to make it wider.
This procedure reduces the risk of rejection because it’s your own fat cells at work.
In some cases, we may combine these procedures with a pubic tuck if you have lost a significant amount of weight and the excess skin in the pubic area hides your penis from view, which can also make it look smaller.
