The answer can be found in primitive times. People believed that men who had large penises were stronger and more powerful than those with smaller penises.
Supposedly, a larger penis meant that men could impregnate their partners more often.
Since they believed that this was what women wanted, they also thought that they would be more desirable to the opposite sex than a man with a small penis.
This issue is important to men to this day, and they have two different ways in which to address it if they believe that they are not large enough.
They can employ temporary penis lengthening, but there are also penis enlargement methods that will have permanent results.
The History of the Phalloplasty
The penis can be enlarged with a surgical procedure called the “phalloplasty.” With phalloplasty, the penis will be thickened as well as lengthened. Doctors began performing male enhancement techniques by lengthening the penis in the 1980s, but it was primarily performed on children.
If these boys had penises that measured less than six centimeters while erect, they were diagnosed with “micro penis” and recommended for penis enlargement surgery.
The Myths and the Legends
History has many stories to tell about the penis. The Greeks and the Chinese developed myths about the size of the penis, and these stories associated a large penis with a man’s strength, power and life span.
However, Christianity did not remain quiet on this issue. During the Middle Ages, every myth that came from Christian circles claimed that large penises were attached to the most vigorous males in the community, but this assumption is presumed to be inaccurate nowadays.
What Is the Best Size?
The answer to this question depends on when and where women are asked. If they are where other people will hear the answer, women tend to say that the size of the penis does not matter.
It is actually how the man uses the male member that makes the difference for these women.
On the other hand, researchers have also asked this question of women in private, and the answer tends to be different. If no one is listening, women admit that the size of the penis is very important to them and that they prefer it to be larger.
The average erect penis measures 5.5 to 5.9 inches with a girth of 4.7 inches. However, some men do have larger penises, and about one in 10,000 can say that their male member measures 9.8 inches.
The Phalloplasty Procedure
Men in Houston who are concerned about the size of their penises have the option of male cosmetic surgery at the Texas Phalloplasty Institute. With phalloplasty, the surgeon will only lengthen the penis and increase its width, so it will be able to function as it did before the surgery.
Only two-thirds of a man’s penis extends outside of the body. Inside, the suspensory ligament and the fundiform ligament attach the penis to the pelvic area. After the physician releases these two ligaments, the penis is always longer.
To increase the girth, a man has two options. He can have a procedure similar to liposuction, where the physician removes tissue from other areas of the body and deposits it into the penis.
The advantages of this method are twofold. One, there is no possibility that the man’s body will reject his own tissue. Two, it is minimally invasive.
Other options include dermal grafts and foreign tissue implants.
Either the surgeon will graft subcutaneous tissue from the patient or will obtain tissue from a foreign source, such as a cadaver. However, it is possible that the body will reject this foreign tissue. If all goes well, this method has seen great results.
